Ashiatsu (Barefoot Massage)
Available with Alyssa Sladek, LMT
In the Japanese language, "Ashi" translates to foot and "Atsu" translates to pressure. Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist uses their feet and body weight to provide deep, broad, and consistent pressure. This effective treatment is great for people who like deep pressure, but don't like the pointy feel of thumbs and elbows. The 60 minute session does not include hot stones and the 75 minute session does include hot stones.

Thai Massage

In this treatment, Alyssa will incorporate assisted stretching movements as she kneads and presses muscles along your body's energy lines with her hands and feet. Benefits include increased flexibility, relief of tension in your muscles and joints, and balancing energy systems in your body. This massage treatment is performed on a padded mat on the floor. You will remain clothed and should wear clothing that is comfortable and stretches easily.

Swedish/Circulatory Massage
This massage incorporates a variety of techniques to promote relaxation, relieve muscle tension, and increase circulation. Techniques include long gliding strokes, kneading, stripping, friction, and tapping. We may also include Thai and Shiatsu techniques such as light stretching, passive movement, compression, and point work along the meridians. Pressure can vary from light to medium to firm depending on your preferences and goals.

Deep Tissue Massage
A deeper therapeutic massage that helps relieve chronic pain and persistent muscle tension. In addition to the above mentioned Swedish massage techniques, we utilize myofascial release, cross fiber friction, trigger point therapy, pin and stretch, and other neuromuscular massage techniques that are very focused on your problem areas. This massage can be more intense than a Swedish massage.

Sports Massage
This massage aims to improve exercise performance and focus on recovery from sports injuries. We use deep tissue and orthopedic massage techniques coupled with hydrotherapy (application of heat and cold) and stretching to help you recover quickly and perform your best. You will experience increased flexibility, greater endurance, faster recovery from injury, and reduced muscle pain.

Prenatal Massage
A relaxing and calming massage that relieves aches and pains associated with pregnancy, improves sleep, strengthens the immune system, and reduces stress and anxiety. Hot Stone Massage
Healing with stones is an ancient therapy. It is said that the energy of the stones helps to ground and balance our energies. We use smooth basalt stones that radiate heat to massage and soothe your muscles. Trails of heat flow across your body and melt away tension and stress. This treatment will bring you back to your body and make you forget about everything else!

Cupping Therapy
The therapist applies cups to tight muscles or fascia with a gentle suction. Cups are left in place for a few minutes or the therapist may glide the cups over the tight area. This treatment increases circulation, helps tissue return to normal tensions, and releases tight fascia and fascial adhesions.

You may choose to focus specifically on relieving head, neck, back and/or sciatic pain.

Hydrotherapy Add-on
Add the use of hot packs and/or ice packs to any office session at no additional charge. Hot packs have a deeply pentetrating, moist heat that soothes and softens tight and painful areas. Ice packs are great for reducing pain and inflammation. And, when combined with the use of heat, cold therapy creates a vascular flush that increases circulation and promotes healing. Typically heat is applied before massage, and cold therapy is applied after massage.

Neural Reset Therapy (NRT)
NRT works directly with the nervous system to reset the tonus of the muscles. NRT can be more effective and longer lasting than massage therapy and works nicely in conjunction with massage therapy and other forms of body work. With NRT, the therapist applies vibration, jostling, or a gentle resistance when asking the client to lightly contract certain muscles.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system.
